VintSnap (“the App”) is operated by Brian Merlehan (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.
Account information. When you sign up with Apple Sign-In (iOS), Google (Android), or email and password, we store your email address, display name, and a unique user ID via Firebase Authentication. This is required to save your credits and listing history.
Listing data. Titles, descriptions, categories, prices, and photo references for items you analyse are stored locally on your device. If you mark an item as sold, anonymised pricing data (brand, category, condition, sale price, region) is uploaded to our database to improve pricing suggestions for all users. This data is not linked to your identity.
Usage data. We store your credit balance, region preference, and currency preference. This data is synced to Firebase Firestore and cached locally.
Photos. Photos you take are processed on your device and sent to the Google Gemini API for AI analysis. Photos are not stored on our servers. Google may process photos in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Purchase data. If you buy credit packs, the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) handles the transaction. On iOS, purchases are processed through RevenueCat, which receives a purchase token and product ID to grant credits. On Android, Google Play Billing is used directly. We do not have access to your payment details on either platform.
Analytics and crash data. We use PostHog (EU-hosted) for product analytics and Sentry (EU-hosted) for crash reporting. These services collect anonymised usage patterns, device information, and crash logs to help us improve the App. On Android, AppsFlyer is used for attribution analytics. No personally identifiable information is shared with these services beyond what is necessary for their operation.
The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Account and credit data is stored in Google Firebase (hosted in the EU/US). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Listing history is stored locally on your device in an app-private directory. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
Your account data is retained for as long as your account exists. Listing history is stored on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App or delete your account. Anonymised crowdsourced pricing data is retained indefinitely to improve the service.

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the App. This will permanently remove your profile, credit balance, and listing history from our servers. To exercise any other rights, contact us at Vintsnap-app@outlook.com.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
